PTA Meeting Sept. 29th and Back to School Night

Hello MES families!

We can't believe that it's almost been a full month of school. Time is certainly flying by.

We will hold our annual PTA pizza dinner for all families who have joined the PTA. The dinner will be from 6 to 7 in the diner. If you have not yet joined the PTA, you can sign up at Back to School Night. The cost is just $6 per student.

We will also be holding a brief general membership meeting during this time. We'll introduce the board members for the 2015-2016 school year as well as vote on the budget for the school year and the audit from the 2014-2015 school year. We'll talk a bit about our plans for the year including communication and programs.

Cardinal Camp and Fee Night

Hey there MES families! Cardinal Camp for our kindergarten families is right around the corner. It will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. Open House for grades 1 - 5 will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm the same day. Bring your supplies and be prepared to pay fees. We will share more on fees soon so you can come prepared. Supply lists can be found here.

Summer Planning

We apologize for the lack of updates to our blog. Summer has been crazy with vacations, PTA board members starting new jobs, and juggling hours by the pool. Rest assured, we have been busy planning to make this a great year for all our families.

We have reviewed the feedback we got from the surveys and planned ways to incorporate the feedback. We are also getting ready for our annual audit, planned for our programs this year,and had a good meeting about the budget we need for the year. We've met about 4 to 5 times to talk as a group about what we want to do and when we should do it. We will be bringing back some of the most popular programs from last year as well as introducing a couple of new ones. We're posting more on Facebook to keep you engaged. 

Our calendar will be published in advance so you can plan ahead. We've been working closely with Dr. Robinson to ensure we can overlap where it makes sense vs. having multiple events a week. We are using Remind Me to text you or email you reminders about upcoming events. 

Stay tuned for dates for the Ice Cream Social! We'll be looking for volunteers to bring in toppings. You'll hear from us soon on that. It's a great way to get to meet the board members and for us to meet you.
